What is Bath Bomb?

A bath bomb is a feel-good concoction that you use in the bath for ultimate pleasure. Bath bombs are hard-packed mixture of dry ingredients that dissolve when placed in water. As they dissolve, they contribute scents, colors, oils, cleansing agents or other materials to the bath water.

Bath Bombs for Kids

Kids tend to absolutely love Bath Bombs. It has some kind of magical ability to make even the crabbiest kid laugh and smile again during bath time. The most exciting part of using Bath Bomb is at the beginning once you drop it into the tub. It has this crazy reaction when placed in water. It looks like a volcano because of the main ingredients (baking soda and citric acid). You might notice before that when mixed with an acid, baking soda reacts, making bubbles.

These bubbles are not going to stay in your tub for long since it’s organic way to soften your water and have fun for your kid. Special bubble mixture that stay in your tub has a lot of damaging for your skin chemicals, you don’t really want using it for your kid’s tub. So baking soda + citric acid is a perfect combination to see the bubbling reaction and get all the benefits from it for your bath time. For a little older kid you may even explain this chemical reaction so he/she gets interested in science for the future.

Bath bombs get completely dissolve in water within a minute or even less. After it dissolved, another magic happens: bath bombs contribute color and scent to the bath water. Sometimes bath bomb contain rose petals, lavender seeds, flower buds or even hidden toys inside. (We are going to make a separate post about those additives embedded into the bath bombs)

Health benefits of Bath Bombs

Bath bombs have health benefits as well. Epsom salt and baking soda makes the bodies detoxify, releasing all the toxins in the body while also relieving muscle tension and relieving stress. Essential Oils benefit your body and mind depending on the type of smell (energizes, calms, relaxes, distresses, ect), Sea Salt works as a cleansing agent, Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda) soothes your water, Oils and Butters (Jojoba, Shea, Olive, ect) leaves your skin moisturized after your bath time.

How to use Bath Bombs?

Fill your bathtub with warm water; drop in the Bath Bomb and lay back to enjoy its lovely color and gorgeous smell. Some Bath Bombs contain flower petals (if you prefer not to have these pieces floating in your tub, wrap the Bath Bomb in a recycled nylon before use). The amount of time required for bath bombs to dissolve can vary. Generally, a bath bomb can be expected to dissolve within two minutes. Crackling and fizzing will occur while the bombs disintegrate, and it is during this time that the bombs' other materials will be dispensed.
